Valles Caldera National Preserve in Northern New Mexico protects a large portion of the Valles Caldera, an area of significant geological, ecological and cultural interest. It has a land area of 89,216 acres. We visited in the summer of 2019.
Locations:
Cabin – Down the main preserve road on the left near the end.
Soda Dam – Highway 4, north of Jemez Springs, left side.
Waterfall – Next to Soda Dam.
Spence Hot Springs – Five miles north of Jemez Ranger District Office on Highway 4 north of Jemez.
Restaurant – Downtown Jemez Springs.
