Cove Lake State Park and Campground is located just off Interstate 75 about 30 minutes North of Knoxville, TN. It’s limited in what it offers on site but there are tons of areas close to explore.
The campground has roughly 100 sites and most have water and electric. There are a couple tent only sites I show in the video that are on the water.
The inner loop and the outer loop both have their own bath houses. The larger loop includes a huge field for the kids to play including playground equipment and a volleyball court.
The campground store is seasonal so you’ll have to call one of the rangers to check in if it is closed or you need firewood.
The other downfall is that there is only 1 dump station so you can imagine how backed up it gets on a holiday weekend.
Not too far of a drive gets you to Cumberland Gap National Historical Park where you can take a short hike to the Tri-State Peak and stand in 3 states at once!!!! Check that video out here :
Also once you finish the hike take a few extra steps around the town to Gap Creek Coffee House. They have AMAZING food and deserts and the ambiance of the old house sets the perfect mood. Finish on the porch swing with an ice cream cone! Be sure to tell the The Roaming Dad sent you!
